23 Green Street, Cambridge. (If it's in red and underlined then it's a link to more information) This is where William Fynn lived for a greater part of his life, firstly with his wife Susan (nee Hazelgrove) and latterly with his second wife Sarah (formerly Briggs, nee Gilbert). He was described in various contemporary directories as a lodging house keeper and as a tobacconist. See William Fynn for more detail. See also Which Fynns are these? for an insight into their lives. The street which runs between Trinity Street and Sidney Street, in the centre of Cambridge is very much in the University district. No doubt his lodgers were undergraduates. The shop at 23 Green Street is now (July 2003) a ladies hairdressing salon but the narrow character of the street is preserved. Click on the above images to see the larger version. Use your "Back" button to return. To view a modern street map showing Green Street click on: Map. and use "Street View" to find 23 Green Street a few years later - Hint: it's still a hair dressers. Return to William Fynn or go back to John 'Porter' Fynn or use one of the buttons to the left.
