Michael Williams is a fellow researcher into the Fynns and their history.
One of the things he has turned up is a Deed of Title within the "Deeds
of title to University property and related papers":

Gift indented (10a) by Thomas Heyerman, burgess of Cambridge,
to John Leynton and Mary, his wife, John Fynn, John
Coleyn, George Whyston and George Brampton, clerks, of two tenements
in St Bene't parish; with duplicate (10b). The property lies between
the empty plot of Corpus Christi College on the east side and the
tenement formerly of William Cornerd, burgess of Cambridge, on the
west side and abutts at one end on the king's highway and at the
other end on the tenement of the said College. The property was held
jointly with Elinor, his wife, and John Canterbury, now both dead,
and John Hessewell, Thomas Roger, John Leynton, all still living, as
a gift from Walter Smyth and Thomas Cosyn, clerks. JH, TR and JL
released all claim on the property by deed of 26 Jan. 1484.
Condition: £33 6s 8d to be paid by JL to TH in instalments or deed
to be void. Witnesses: Nicholas Hylton, mayor of Cambridge, John
Dale, Thomas Gyybbeson, John Rawleyn, bailiffs of Cambridge, and
others. Given at Cambridge. 4 seals on 10a.

Receipt from Robert Bryan, clerk, administrator of Thomas
Heyerman, late burgess of Cambridge, for £6 13s 4d for two
tenements in St Bene't parish, paid by John Leynton and Maria, his
wife, John Fynn, John Coleyn and John Brampton,
clerks. The money is in full payment of £33 6s 8d for the
property which lies between the empty plot of Corpus Christi
College on the east side and the tenement formerly of William
Cornerd, burgess of Cambridge, on the west side and abutts at one
end on the king's highway and at the other end on the tenement of
the said College.

They take a bit of reading to sort who is who but whilst there is obviously
no necessary connection between the John Fynn mentioned and "our"
Fynns. But- hey - there maybe!
