We have found the granting of Probate:

On searching the bound records in the library in Birmingham, I have found the 'grant of probate' of Thomas' Will:

"FYNN, Thomas Cowling; of "Kilmeny", Tenison Avenue, Cambridge, College Butler, died 5th January 1904. Probate Peterborough 15th February 1904 to Arthur Fredk Fynn, Gent.        £2339.16s.2d."

The grant of probate doesn't tell us who inherited what, but this particular 'grant' does raise a few questions:

The 1901 census shows Thomas living at "Kilnsey", Simpson Avenue, St Pauls, Cambridge.  We have never been able to find any other record of this address. The Will shows that Thomas died at "Kilmeny" Tenison Avenue, Cambridge an address which still exists.  Are they one and the same and has someone done some bad copying? To view a modern street map showing Tenison Avenue, click on: Map.
£2339.16s.2d. is quite a sum (probably something like £200,000 at today's (2003) values). If he had owned a house that would only have accounted for a few hundreds.  So Butler-ing was a 'good position.'
Who was Arthur Fredk Fynn? If we review some of the Fynns we have found but do not know where they fit in (see Unknown parentage...) we can see that an Arthur Frederick Fynn was born in 1856 in St Andrew the Great.  Thomas and Maria were living at 10 Parker Street, St Andrew the Great, Cambridge at the time of the 1851 census. Robert (who we have taken to be a brother of Thomas) and Mary Fynn lived in Earl Street, also St Andrew the Great at the same time. So maybe Arthur was a son of Thomas or a son of Robert. If the former then his role in dealing with the Will is straightforward.  If Thomas was his Uncle then he was dealing with the Will on behalf of his cousins, Clara Amelia and Florence Mary. We must get his Birth Certificate to find out. There was also a Frederick Fynn born in the same parish in 1855. Whilst there is no trace of Arthur in the 1881 or 1901 census, there is an entry for a Frederick Fynn.

Maybe some more work needs doing to find out who is who...
