11, Trumpington Street, Cambridge.

Arthur John Fynn was born 9th July 1888 at 11 Trumpington Street, St Mary the Great, Cambridge. (Certificate) He was the second son of John and Mary Jane Fynn. They lived here in 1888 having been living in Portugal Place in 1886 and by 1893 the family were living in Cherry Hinton.

 11 Trumpington Street, Cambridge still exists.  It presently (July 2003) houses part of the Cambridge University Students Union both in the guise of their magazine publishing office and as their counseling service. One member of staff kindly showed us around the house. The passages and stairs were very narrow but it was four floors high. The original fireplaces appear to have been boarded up but the tiled passages were definitely 'original'.  The back garden was no more than a yard with a college building behind.
